This presentation offers information on national prevalence of parental substance use as an identified condition of removal, which then paves the way to information on a Florida specific study involving child welfare involved parents/caregivers with a substance misuse allegation.

Additionally, the presentation provides an overview of potential long-term effects on substance exposed newborns and how the Florida Department of Children and Families has implemented prevention and intervention efforts in collaboration with its local communities and stakeholders to increase access to treatment, supports, and resources for pregnant women, enabling better health outcomes for both mothers and babies.
