Course Description

Foster Care Youth are prescribed psychotropic medications at rates significantly higher than their same-aged peers. This training will provide staff and volunteers with an understanding and workable knowledge of the laws and policies that exist to protect and monitor the youth who are taking these powerful medications.

Narrated by Christine Meyer, Circuit 4 Guardian ad Litem Supervising Attorney.


PLEASE NOTE:  For those with the Guardian ad Litem Program, 1.5 hours of in-service training applies to this training.  The Optima training topic is "Psychotropic Medications".

I thought the course was well written covering a wide range of topics related to a youth taking Psychotropic Meds. My daughter was on Adderall for ADHD (she actually had PTSD and was mis-diagnosed) so I know resource guides of this type are critical. Extremely helpful to understand what happens when we are working with a youth who is in a Foster setting.
