Course Description

This presentation will provide a framework for AALs appointed from the CWSN’s Registry, GAL volunteers, best interest attorneys, Department personnel, health care providers, and testifying experts regarding issues arising with hearsay issues with children with disabilities.

We will discuss the relevant statutes, caselaw, and issues that arise on appeal regarding the child victim hearsay exception.

Given the recent influx of parents’ TPR appeals that raise child hearsay issues, this presentation is timely and important for AALs and GALs on the “front lines” of these cases.
