This course explains clear steps and requirements to meet the procedure to go home. Another advantage is that we can watch it and listen it as many times we wish.

Case managers and GALS need to determine if the parent(s) behaviors have changed enough that a child(ren) can be reunified with a safety plan in place. That shifted from a previous policy that parents had to meet all requirements in their case plan. To have a safety plan, the following 5 conditions have to be met: 1) Is the parent/family willing to have an in-home safety plan? Will they continue to cooperate? 2) Is the home environment calm and consistent? 3) Are in-home services available in their area? 4) Are any professional evaluations still needed or have they been completed? 5) Does the family have a residence where a safety plan can be implemented?

This course has great information and will be an excellent resource when writing GAL reports and JRs. Love that there is a download for the pdfs--very helpful.

I just listened to the recorded version of this webinar. It was very informative and clear and concise in its presentation. I appreciated that I could download the power point ahead of time and follow along during the verbal presentation.

I found this helpful and will continue to refer to the handouts when writing reports for JR/permanency or if I feel a change is warranted.

Good information was provided on what has to happen for parents to have the protective capacity for children to be placed back in the home.

Gave me an understanding of amended standard for reunification. I liked the case scenarios.

Text is clear in stating what needs to be in place before recommending reunification. Scenario #1 lacks info as to the mothers background and ability to provide a stable home environment in the current State or in Kentucky. How is it that the children seem to be well cared for and are happy under the circumstances ? The mothers efforts to bail Roy out, in my mind shows disregard for her own and the children's safety. Scenario #2 show weakness and discontent on the part of Ted. and raises the question of drug use during the week. A "never on Sunday ", or in this case" only on weekends", drug user does not exists. The "safety analysis for return" provide good examples .
