Guardian ad Litem Pre-Service Training
The material in this course about educational advocacy is designed to help you identify and understand the academic challenges a child faces while in foster care.
It provides an overview of the relationships you can establish within the school system and the resources you can access to help your child reach their academic goals.
You will also find numerous learning resources that you can refer to in order to gain a more in depth knowledge of this very important topic.
You are not expected to complete the course in one sitting. It is recommend you complete one chapter at a time, allowing at least 30 minutes per chapter.
NOTE: For GAL Staff and Volunteers, the Optima training topic for this 1.5 hour course is "Educational Advocacy".
