Course Description

This training covers the basic statutory and administrative law sections regarding the benefits and responsibilities youth receive as part of Independent Living in the dependency system. 

Topics include: 

  • Independent living preparation (i.e. required agency staffings, transition plans, etc.) 
  • Implementation of independent living skills in adulthood (i.e. Extended Foster Care, Postsecondary Education Services and Support, etc.). 
  • Independent living challenges which arise for dependency advocates and ways to resolve those issues.
