Course Description

"How to request and advocate with a co-guardian when your child is placed out of Circuit"

Often times our children are placed out of their home Circuit. When this happens it is critical to engage the Guardian ad Litem Program in the Circuit where your child is placed.

This course reviews the internal process for requesting a co-guardian in another Circuit and the expectations for how both Circuits should work collaboratively together in representing the child.

Also discussed are the requirements for data entry when it comes to Optima and how to utilize it effectively when a case is being worked on in two Circuits.

This course is part of our staff developmental "Back to Basics" training series and is mandatory for all staff members.

This webinar is presented by the Guardian ad Litem Program's Director of Operations, Frank Prado, Southern Regional Director, Kristen Solomon, Esq., C.P.M., and Lesley Scott, Director 9th Judicial Circuit.

PLEASE NOTE:  This webinar does count toward 1.5-hour of in-service training.  The Optima training topic is "Staff Development (specify in notes)".
