Present background of legal authority for the Agency of Persons with Disabilities program, available services, the Medicaid Waiver Coordinator’s role, the subcontracting of APD services, and the APD workers.
Discuss realistic expectations of the APD worker within a dependency case including possible conflicts of interest, lack of objectivity, limited availability, and high turnover.
Identify potential pitfalls in achieving permanency. Explore practical options for shelter and case planning.
Develop best practices to achieve desirable outcomes for children in this unique population.
