The 1.5-hour training will provide a basic overview of Florida’s Baker Act and strategies to advocate for children/young adults who experience a Baker Act(s).  Participants will learn about key steps of Florida’s Baker Act process, differences for minors and adults, meaning of “voluntary” and “involuntary,” and strategies and resources to enhance advocacy.  

This training will be presented by Ms. Ute Gazioch, Senior Director of Behavioral Health Policy with the Florida Behavioral Health Association. Ms. Gazioch is recognized for her extensive knowledge of Florida’s system of care and her subject matter expertise related to Florida’s Baker Act law, policy, and process.
