In this workshop, participants will explore the interactions between the wide array of transition services available to students with disabilities and Social Security benefits provided through both the SSI and SSDI programs.
An emphasis will be placed on the Workplace Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) through the Client Assistance Program (CAP).
Participants will learn which agencies and programs have roles in the transition process, what issues to be alert to as a student transitions into post-secondary activities, and how work incentives can ease the transition from the beneficiary to the self-sufficient individual.
