IEP Meetings: A Practical Approach and Frequently Asked Questions
This final educational advocacy webinar for the 2018-19 school year provides an excellent review of the important topics presented by Dr. Kelly in all 9 webinars. Using “Frequently Asked Questions” from participants, Dr. Kelly addresses what volunteer advocates can do when faced with numerous “What to do if…” educational advocacy situations. For instance, “What do I do if I think my child needs ESE services?” and “ What to do if my child is baker acted and considered a danger to himself and others?”
The information shared by Dr. Kelly will either answer the questions you have or it will lead you to a previous webinar that will. It is highly recommended that you take advantage of Dr. Kelly’s expertise and access all of her recorded webinars. The webinars are designed to build upon each other and provide you with a clear understanding of your role as an educational advocate.

Read MoreEssential information for everyone dealing with a child struggling in school! Dr. Katie Kelly provides excellent information not readily made available by school systems to help you assist parent/guardian/care taker in advocating for the child's right to FAPE - FAPE is a free and appropriate public education and is the legal standard by which all special education is judged. If the student is not receiving a FAPE, then that is time to request more supports and/or services. I learned so much from this presentation and Dr. Kelly's narrative. Highly recommend for everyone dealing with school aged children and younger!
