October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  We were excited to have guest speaker Christine Meister, Coordinated Community Response Trainer with The Spring of Tampa Bay, a state-certified domestic violence center, join us for an afternoon of learning. Attendees will learn about domestic violence and the effects on children, as well as gain insights into batterer and victim behaviors, why survivors sometimes stay in abusive situations, and how to effectively support victims in domestic violence situations while keeping children safe through effective safety planning and preparation.  Attendees will also learn about the various resources available across the state through Florida’s 40 certified domestic violence centers.
